It all depends on what matters most to you. Let\u2019s look at different key metrics you can use to determine if the number of conversions you\u2019re getting is on track to helping you reach your goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"conversion-rate\">Conversion Rate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Conversion rate, or CVR, is a measurement of how many times your ad is converting. On the low end, we have employment and job training (not a common category for ads, and this shows in the numbers), as well as finance and insurance, customer service, and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"average-facebook-cost-per-click\">Average Facebook Cost Per Click<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The CPC for ads has certainly risen over the decades since online and social media advertising first popped up. Today, companies pay on average $1.72 per click.<br>&lt;figure&gt;&lt;img src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.datocms-assets.com\/61627\/1652462061-cost-per-click.png&#8221; alt=&#8221;Facebook average cost per click&#8221; \/&gt;&lt;\/figure&gt;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re in the finance and insurance industry, you\u2019ll pay more for those clicks, with an average CPC of $3.77. If you\u2019re in travel and hospitality, you\u2019ll be happy to hear the average is $0.63! There are good deals to be had in the world of PPC (pay-per-click) advertising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"average-facebook-cost-per-thousand-impressions\">Average Facebook Cost Per Thousand Impressions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Wordstream doesn\u2019t break down CPM by industry, but its data does show that the average cost per thousand impressions across industries is $11.54.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"average-facebook-cost-per-action\">Average Facebook Cost Per Action<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cost per action can get a bit higher than cost per click because you\u2019re seeing members of your target audience move through to completing a task. As long as that CPA leaves you plenty of profit margin, it\u2019s okay if this is a higher cost.&lt;figure&gt;&lt;img src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.datocms-assets.com\/61627\/1652462166-cost-per-action.png&#8221; alt=&#8221;Facebook average cost per action&#8221; \/&gt;&lt;\/figure&gt;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the average CPA on Facebook ads is $18.68, the lowest CPA is $7.85 for the education industry. The apparel industry ($10.98) and healthcare ($12.31) also have relatively low costs. On the high end, we have technology, which pays a whopping $55.21 on average for its CPA! Given the higher cost for technology, this may well be worth the investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"optimizing-facebook-ads-for-conversions\">Optimizing Facebook Ads for Conversions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the ongoing goals in digital marketing and advertising is to continually see higher conversion rates on Facebook ad campaigns and any other element used to reach a certain demographic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Constantly increasing lead generation, clicks, signups, and sales requires paying attention to what your audience is responding to. The ad formats you use need to resonate with them. If they\u2019re drawn in by vivid visuals, make sure you\u2019re investing in high-quality photography and not taking pics with your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ad copy you use will also help increase conversions. Write copy that fits the advertising platform; what works on Instagram may not sell on Facebook with the same verbiage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another way to optimize your Faceook ads is to keep a keen eye on what your ads cost. Certainly, you don\u2019t want pricing to exceed profit, but don\u2019t be afraid to increase ad spend if you\u2019re seeing positive results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also increase conversions by exploring your targeting options. Retargeting is a clever way to get your ad in front of people who have already visited your website. It\u2019s often that repeat exposure to a brand that gets people to buy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And finally, though it might be a&nbsp;<em>duh<\/em>&nbsp;moment for you, really invest in getting to know your audience. Ad targeting is a fine art&nbsp;<em>and<\/em>&nbsp;a science, and it may take a while to create ads that really hit home with your customer base.
